5. Add Chris Archer in a Change of Scenery Deal

Chris Archer has long been on the Atlanta Braves list of trade targets. This season Archer is struggling to the tune of a 4.29 ERA and looking nothing like the dominant pitcher he has been at times in his career.

Adding Archer would be pricey and only an option if the Braves are confident they have third base taken care of.

If so the Rays may finally move on from their top pitcher. Any pursuit of Archer would cost the Braves at least two of their top prospects and likely more, considering the bidding war likely to ensue for one of the more popular pitchers thought to be on the trade market.

Chris Archer would likely slot at the top of the rotation giving the Braves a legitimate postseason rotation with Archer-Newcomb-Foltynewicz and Julio Teheran completing their top four.

It is a dream scenario for Braves fans finally acquiring a top arm they have been chasing for years.  But our next candidate makes more sense for the team.
