Scouting Report. 2011-Present, Alabama. Julio Jones. 1. player. 44. Pick Analysis. WR

The best Wide Receiver in the NFL comes in at number 1 on the list. Atlanta gave up A LOT to get Julio Jones in the 2011 draft and a lot of people didn’t like the move. Much like Roddy White though, the doubters were quickly silenced. His second year in the league, Julio played a full 16-game season where he went for 1,198 yards and 10 touchdowns. His dominance continued as since 2014 Julio has 411 receptions, 6,317 yards, and 23 touchdowns. On top of that he also holds many records like being the fastest to 9,000 yards receiving, being only the second wide receiver to go for 1,400+ yards 4 straight times, and having the most 250+ yard games.

Before 2016, I would have said Julio was the second best Falcons receiver of all time despite the 1,900 yards in 2015. With a great 2016 season, a monster 2016 playoffs, a Super Bowl appearance, and a decent 2017, I put Julio above Roddy. Even though Julio is behind Roddy by 1,809 yards and 20 touchdowns, his “per game” and “per receptions” statistics are better. Julio averages 15.5 yards a reception, 95.3 yards per game, and 1 touchdown every 2 games, while Roddy averages 13.4 yards a reception, only 63.5 yards per game, and 1 touchdown every 2.7 games. Another reason is their standing in the NFL. Julio is considered the best (or at least second best) wide receiver in the NFL and is considered (or will be) one of the best of all-time while Roddy was never at that status.

In the 2016 playoffs, Julio had three out of this world catches alone. I truly believe that only three other receivers in NFL history would’ve made the Packers slant into a TD, the Packers flip catch, or the Super Bowl Catch. Gerald McCoy put it best when he said “I believe he was born out of an egg. I don’t think he was born naturally, I truly believe he was generated, put together, and hatched.” Julio is a monster of a man. He has the size to jump over any defensive back, the speed to outrun anybody, and the power to rip the ball out of your hands or run through you. It’s become customary for Julio to make insane plays that make even the opponents bow down to him. He also does it without any drama or trash talking that has become customary with wide receivers these days.

While some people disagree with Julio being the best Atlanta Falcons Wide Receiver of all-time right now, no one can deny his potential to be the best and his overall ability that makes him who he is.
