2. Sean Newcomb Deserving of Making the Team

Watching Sean Newcomb take the mound for the Atlanta Braves is exciting. Every time he takes the mound you feel as if the Braves are likely to win his start. He has brought a mound presence he lacked last season and it is paying off.

Strikeouts are still a big part of his success but he doesn’t live and die by them as he did last season. He has shown an ability to pitch to contact and get outs when he doesn’t have his best stuff.

A skill Newcomb is developing and will only get better at in the future season. The Braves may miss Andrelton Simmons but dealing the fan favorite may have netted them the ace we have been waiting on the Braves to acquire for some time.

Sean deserves to make the All-Star staff though barring an impressive run shouldn’t be considered as the starter in a National League loaded with good pitching so far this season.
