2. Turn a Division Rival into a Fan Favorite

Bryce Harper isn’t popular in Atlanta. He seems to offend old-school baseball players because he plays with passion and a personality. Put aside your old school sensibilities and focus on what he would bring to Atlanta.

Fans would quickly forget he was a rival and he would become a fan favorite in Atlanta. He would replace Nick Markakis who is set to be a free agent and offer better defense and more excitement at the plate having hit 168 homers already in his young career.

He would bring an edge to the team as well, one the Nationals have benefitted from. Having a franchise player like Harper would take a ton of pressure off of the rest of the Braves lineup and make their offense one of the best in the League.

The only con to signing Harper is the fact his contract is expected to be record-breaking. For the Braves it wouldn’t be a horrible decision considering their current contract flexibility.
