The Atlanta Braves need Ender Inciarte to break out of his current slump and help lead the offense. Inciarte has been scuffling hitting an anemic .240 heading into a series against the Mets.

Ender Inciarte has spent the better part of the last two years as the Atlanta Braves leadoff hitter. Looking at his numbers he is hitting .289 for his career and hitting .304 and .291 his first two seasons with the Braves.

His .240 average and struggles at the plate this far into the season are concerning but unlikely to continue.

Inciarte is scuffling, but looking at his career averages it is very obvious this year is the outlier. He still has plenty of time to turn it around and the Braves need him badly.

Starting out the year on fire the offense led the National League in runs scored for much of the early weeks of the season. Since then their offense has struggled and Inciarte isn’t the only Brave scuffling.

Ozzie Albies has hit a bit of a slump as of late.  Albies is hitting leadoff currently for the Braves and should bounce back quickly.

For Inciarte he is going to have to take the time to change his approach at the plate. He is leaning towards the plate and shifting his front foot far too early and it is resulting in a lot of weak contact.

It is a mechanics issue, one that could be easily fixed if Inciarte will take the time and change his approach.  At twenty-seven he is just hitting the prime of his career and is far too young for any long-term regression.

Inciarte needs to bounce back to help keep the Braves lineup moving. Whether he is hitting sixth or second he plays a big role in helping cause havoc on the base paths and keeping the lineup moving.

The Braves need Ender badly with their recent offensive struggles.  Inciarte will not disappoint his career numbers and his ability as a hitter is far too glaring for any other opinion. The Braves are getting set for an important series with the Mets as they attempt to stay in the division race.
