The Atlanta Falcons star receiver Julio Jones will not be showing up for mandatory mini-camp. A fact pointing to Jones wanting more money despite having three years left on his deal.

Julio Jones has put the Atlanta Falcons in a rough position. The star wide-out has always made the right decisions never the diva wide receiver, until now.

Jones signed his contract it isn’t a rookie deal and it isn’t expiring for three more years. Julio should be in camp working hard to get better and working with his teammates. Instead, he will hold out waiting for a new contract the Falcons shouldn’t give him.

With three years on a deal, he decided to sign Jones needs to realize it was his decision and focus on playing football. If the Falcons didn’t have a long list of other young players to lock up a large deal makes sense.

For now, the timing is wrong and Jones is making the diva move not working with his teammates. Jones will get his money, at some point you must bet on yourself. Unless Jones retires three years from now he will likely receive one of the biggest receiver deals in history.

At that point, the Falcons will have a larger cap and hopefully more room to pay the star. Jones made the decision to sign his extension and now he needs to live with it despite the League outgrowing his current deal.

If it weren’t for the cap Jones would have a valid complaint. His deal should be updated in a perfect world, but it will come down to what Jones wants more, his money or to help his team win.

Jones had worked out with T.O. over the off-season take that information and Jones’ current situation for what you will.
