Pick Analysis. TE. player. 44. 2. Scouting Report. 2001-2007, North Carolina. Alge Crumpler

The University of North Carolina product was drafted by Atlanta 35th overall in the 2001 NFL draft and was part of the very successful early 2000s Falcons team. Crumpler started 93 games for the red and black while racking up 4,212 yards and 35 touchdowns on 316 receptions. What makes these stats even more impressive is that his quarterbacks weren’t very good during his time in Atlanta. Despite that, Crumpler prevailed and became one of the greatest Falcons tight ends ever.

Crumpler was a prototypical tight end. He had the size of a tight end combined with the route running ability and hands of a wide receiver. He could also take a hit. One of my favorite memories of him just happens to be his best game ever (above). Alge Crumpler could take a game over and did just that against Pittsburgh where he had 6 catches for 117 yards and 3 touchdowns.

I put Crumpler behind Gonzalez personally because of how they contributed to their teams success and how successful their teams were but I have no problem with switching them.
