Atlanta Hawks
ATLANTA, GA – JANUARY 12: Kent Bazemore /

The Atlanta Hawks made two things clear on NBA Draft Night. First they are focused on building a three-point shooting team, and secondly, Kent Bazemore and Dennis Schroder are on their way out of Atlanta.

Kent Bazemore easily has the worst contract on the Atlanta Hawks roster. He will be the highest paid Atlanta Hawk at $18-million next season with a $19-million player option set for the season after.

His numbers last season were hardly deserving of such a contract at 12.9 points a game. It is time for the Hawks to move on from the veteran. To be able to do that they are going to have to get creative and be willing to take on other bad contracts.

A change of scenery for Bazemore could provide better pieces for the Hawks even if they are overpaid.

The point of any such trade is to either have the salary spread out by other overpaid players or to take on one bad contract fitting the Hawks better than Kent Bazemore does currently.

The Hawks have a lot to consider but it seems clear they will try to move on from both Kent Bazemore and Dennis Schroder.

Here are five creative ways the Hawks could opt to rid themselves of Bazemore’s deal.
