3. The Hawks Trade Kent Bazemore and Miles Plumlee to the Nets for Allen Crabbe and DeMarre Carroll

Allen Crabbe’s contract is one of the worst deals in the NBA. He is signed for two more seasons at $18-Million each season. Dealing him away would be a win for the Nets sending him to the Hawks would be an option if the Nets would take an equally bad contract like Plumlee’s for $12-million.

Sending Bazemore and Carroll to offset each other would make this deal work. For the Nets they rid themselves of Crabbe and add a better player in Bazemore while getting rid of Carroll’s contract as well.

For the Hawks, they get rid of two bad contracts and Carroll’s would expire after one season leaving them only overpaying Crabbe as opposed to overpaying Bazemore and Plumlee.

This would be a painful trade for both sides but it makes sense and would fit their roster needs. Bazemore would likely start with the Nets looking at their current construction while the Hawks would use Carroll in a supporting role and hide Crabbe on the bench.
