The Atlanta Braves currently lead the the NL East Division, and have for a while. With just over a month until the MLB Trade Deadline, here are a few of the emerging storylines.

The official start of summer ushers in with 90 degree weather and a red-hot Atlanta Braves team. Between now and the trade deadline, there’s no shortage of storylines to quench the thirst of Atlanta’s die-hard fans.

As the Braves near the half way point of the season, they lead the NL East. Few predicted the combination of solid starting pitching and innovative offense would dominate the way it has.

By this point, in the last few seasons, relevance was the team’s goal. Now, the Braves are aiming for the playoffs.

June and July are typically the brunt of the season as teams find themselves bogged in a routine, until the trade deadline passes and the contenders focus on the playoff push. A five-year absence, however, has Atlanta buzzing with excitement even in the steaming Georgia humidity.

From the MVP race to rising minor league stars to trade rumors, here are the stories to watch for the next few months.
