2. The Braves have interest in adding veteran Adrian Beltre
This may be my favorite rumor not involving improving the relief pitching. There is a lot to sort through here for a potential deal for both sides. The biggest problem with such a deal is Beltre will have to agree to any deal the Rangers make.
He has made it known he is willing to be traded into a good situation. The Rangers seem unlikely to deal him unless it was into a contending situation. According to all reports, the Rangers may or may not trade Adrian.
If they do choose to trade him it will be into a good situation and with the team believing they can resign the veteran slugger this off-season.
It seems likely he will simply be a two-month rental if he is dealt and head back to the Rangers after attempting to help make a postseason push.
With all of this in mind, it seems likely the Braves could acquire Beltre for a minor prospect or two if he is willing to come to Atlanta.
He would be the perfect balance adding veteran leadership to a very young team while being a player who still needs an occasional day off providing playing time for resurgent Johan Camargo.
