3. There is a small amount of interest in Orioles’ Manny Machado

Atlanta reportedly has a small amount of interest in Manny Machado as do most teams in contention.  If you are Atlanta trading for Manny would be a giant mistake. He is set to hit the free agent market shortly.

If the team has interest in him take their shot at him then. Adding Manny is going to be very expensive for any contender.

Sending top prospects for a rental should only be an option if you believe the deal directly results in a ring.

Adding a player like Machado doesn’t help a weakness it makes the lineup better but doesn’t seem to vault the team to top contender status. Patience is going to be key here. Wait until the off-season then take your shot at one of the best young players in baseball.
