At the NFL Owners’ Meeting in March, Atlanta Falcons Head Coach Dan Quinn named 6 current players he wanted to elevate their game in 2018 but what new players should we look for at Training Camp?

Luke McNitt

The most important position Atlanta Falcons battle this camp will be the fullback position. Although the Falcons didn’t address it in the draft, they did sign 3 fullbacks to compete for the starting position. My early favorite for the job is Luke McNitt for a couple of reasons. He fits the typical fullback archetype that you want rather than the typical hybrid back we see in the league now so would fit in with the run-first style of offense.

"“They really like my special teams film, they can see me playing on all four special teams. I want to be a leader on those special teams units.” – Luke McNitt to Husker247"

He also has great special teams talent so the Falcons won’t completely miss out on Coleman’s special teams’ production.

Terrell McClain

Terrell Mcclain was arguably the biggest FA signing made by the Falcons this offseason as he fits the very noticeable hole at defensive tackle. While he isn’t a rookie like the other two players, he is still a new player to the Falcons. Although he struggled last year it was mainly because of scheme fit. He’s finally found a good scheme fit in Atlanta as he is reunited with a 4-3 defense. He could very easily be a crucial run stopper for Atlanta and is one to watch at minicamp.

Deadrin Senat

Deadrin Senat was selected by the Falcons in the third round of the NFL draft and in my opinion, was a fantastic pick. He’s built exactly like Grady Jarrett and I think has the same potential. He’s a big guy who never gives up on plays and is always working on his craft. The main reason I like him and his potential is his hands. He’s got a great initial punch as well as violent and sudden hands that could lead to him getting a big amount of snaps.

He’s one to watch at camp as I think if he gets more quality time with Grady Jarrett like above, he could be a disruptive player this year.
