The Atlanta Hawks have moved on from former point guard Dennis Schroder. With his contract gone could the Hawks be focused on moving on from Kent Bazemore next?

Kent Bazemore is the last remaining remnant of the Atlanta Hawks teams of old.  He has two years remaining on his contract. A bad contract the Hawks wouldn’t hesitate to move if they received the right offer.

The Hawks have freed up a lot of cap space by taking on Carmelo Anthony. While paying his salary out this season may limit them from making any other moves it will give them a huge amount of money to spend in free agency next off-season.

If the young core is good and can show their potential Atlanta could become a free agent destination.

Two bad contracts remain on the books for Atlanta and the most pressing has to belong to Kent Bazemore.

Moving on from Bazemore is a must for the Hawks is they can find a way to move on from him. Finding a team capable of taking on his salary and willing to pay out the two remaining years on his deal will be tough.

Still, if the Hawks managed to move on from Dennis amid his off-court issues and on-court attitude concerns they surely could find a way to move on from Kent.

Bazemore would be a great presence to have around the locker room if they are unable to move him.

While his production may be far from consistent he is an upbeat player who is a team-first guy. His contract is the only reason the Hawks should actively be trying to move on from the small forward/shooting guard.

Bazemore’s time in Atlanta is limited with the arrival of new faces and the Hawks in full rebuild mode. The question is can the Hawks find a way to rid themselves of his contract before the start of the new season?
