The Atlanta Falcons and their fans can all breathe a sigh of relief as Julio Jones has ended his holdout. Jones showing up to camp on time comes as a bit of a pleasant surprise.

Julio Jones and his holdout have been the headline stories of the Atlanta Falcons offseason. The fact it is finally over is good news for the team considering Jones is one of their top players and has three years left on his deal.

Jones reportedly was given a small bonus and a promise of a new deal at seasons end. A compromise for both sides that will now have Jones in camp and focused on football.

Giving Matt Ryan and Julio Jones the time in camp to get back on the same page will be key to the success of the offense. Jones will have more time to perfect his impressive route tree and work with fellow Bama’ alum Calvin Ridley.

Jones receiving a new deal at the end of the season will give the Falcons time to become creative with other expiring contracts. With two years left on his deal, the Falcons have to hope Jones is willing to take a backloaded contract with the hopes their cap will increase.

Jones is coming off of back to back 1,400-yard seasons and is one of the best receivers ever to play. With his recent focus on money attempting to imagine the magnitude of a contract he could demand is worrisome.

But for now, all is well in Atlanta as Jones is back in the fold and focused on getting ready for the season ahead.
