Georgia Tech: Five Breakout Players To Watch For
Anree Saint-Amour, DE
In his senior year, Anree Saint-Amour is finally the main edge rusher with Antonio Simmons and Keshun Freeman leaving for the NFL. He had 32 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks last year despite not being the first or second option at DE. At 6’3 and 247 pounds, Saint-Amour has fantastic size. His most impressive attribute, though, is his strength.
"“I’ve never seen him fail at (lifting) any weight he’s done, like, ever, I’ve seen (strength-and-conditioning coach John Sisk) tell him, ‘Stop. Don’t put any more weight on.’ Like, there’s no point.”- DL Brentavious Glanton after a spring practice"
He excels in the weight room and it’s what has allowed him to be a good rusher, but he can sometimes rely purely on his strength when rushing.
If he can work on his technique such as hand-fighting and pass rushing moves, he will be a monster for an already solid defensive line.
