The Atlanta Falcons seem to be getting their bearings after losing to the Chiefs.  They are starting to look better offensively this past week after a disappointing first outing at the Jets last week.

The Atlanta Falcons are slowly taking shape as Preseason continues.  Despite a couple of highlights in their first game against the Jets, their performance was still abysmal.  In their game against the Chiefs, however, they certainly got off to a hotter start.

The Atlanta offense got a touchdown on their first drive, there were many big plays on subsequent drives, and the defense was quite explosive.

Demontae Kazee made yet another highlight play on defense where he snagged an interception when he jumped in front of a receiver.  Also, Calvin Ridley was not only dominating in receiving but also kick returning as well.  He started the game off with a 35-yard kick return.  During the game, he racked up three catches for 49 yards and a touchdown.  This team is starting to look like the elite talent that they are meant to be.

As Preseason goes on, I fully expect this team to be an unstoppable wrecking force heading into Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles.  There is way too much talent on this team for it to all go to waste.  In fact, on paper, this team is arguably one of the best put-together teams in all of the NFL.  However, the Falcons cannot just look the part but they have to play the part too.

In addition, with the first set of cuts looming, I believe that Julio Jones and Devonta Freeman will take the field at some point during the Preseason.  It will probably only be for a couple of plays and they may not even get them the ball when they are on the field.  Though, I do think that they will take the field at some point in order to get them mentally prepared for the regular season.

When Preseason is done, do not look at the record, but look at the stats.  Look at how the first string and second string is doing.  Even look at the third string.  Preseason is not about the overall record, but it is about how players and units performed.

The Falcons are trending in the right direction little-by-little.  That just means that the best has yet to come.
