Three days after getting swept at home the Atlanta Braves completed a sweep of their own beating the Pirates three games in a row. A series sweep steadying the Braves and their fanbase.

Being an Atlanta Braves fan or an Atlanta fan, in general, is often painful. It leaves fans expecting the worst of their team and often they are not disappointed.  For this young Braves team, they will have their work cut out for them bucking the trend.

After getting swept out of their home ballpark by the Rockies parts of the fanbase seemed concerned we could be seeing the start of another typical Atlanta collapse.

How did the young Braves respond? By heading into Pittsburgh and sweeping the Pirates only giving up two runs in three games.

A sweep putting them 2.5 games up over the Phillies and promising the Braves an interesting September as they attempt to break through to the postseason.

While the highs and lows of baseball are to be expected this team seems to be full of them. A young team who may drop three or four in a row only to rattle off five straight wins.

It is a young roster proving themselves as they battle the Phillies for their division. The Nationals have all but waved the white flag sitting well behind Philly and Atlanta trading away veteran players.

Former Brave Matt Adams is on the move to the Cardinals while Braves killer Daniel Murphy will head to Chicago to join the Cubs.

Barring a miracle, it has become a two-team race for the division. A race Atlanta is more than capable of winning if they can continue to benefit from their treasure trove of young arms.

The offensive attack has been led by Freddie Freeman (no surprise there) and a resurgent Nick Markakis. Heading into September Atlanta appears to have the more consistent and exciting lineup.
