The Atlanta Hawks Schedule was just recently released. Here are seven of the most intriguing matchups on the 2018-19 schedule.

A Legendary Streak

@ New York Knicks, Wednesday October 18th, at 7:30 PM EST

The Atlanta Hawks season will get off to a bang right away, with the season opener being in New York. There have been many famous visiting performances, at Madison Square Garden over the years. Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, and Bernard King, all have 60+ point games at MSG. Michael Jordan had the famous double nickel (55 point) game. Stephen Curry Nailed 11 3s in route to a 54 point game. And those are just a few of the many slended performances, at MSG over the years.

Trae Young will make his NBA debut at the “World’s Most Famous Arena”, on October 17th. The basketball world will be watching eagerly with anticipation, to see how Young will respond to the bright lights. Can he match Michael Jordan’s 33 point debut?

Trae Young is expected to match up against the trio of Trey Burke, Frank Ntilikina, and Emmanuel Mudiay. Second Year Power Forward John Collins versus ninth overall pick Kevin Knox, is the most intriguing one on one matchup of the game. A battle of athletic forwards, Taurean Prince going head to head with Mario Hezonja, is sure to be interesting as well.

What makes this game extremely special is, it will be the 2500th consecutive game for Atlanta Hawks radio announcer, the legendary Steve Holman. Mr. Holman recently tweeted about the upcoming milestone:

Unfortunately Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis will miss the first matchup. He could return by the second meeting on December 21st in New York. He has an excellent chance of playing on February 12th, in the third and final meeting between the two clubs. Should KP return he against Hawks high flying power forward John Collins will certainly be a marquee match-up.
