Atlanta Hawks 2018-19 Schedule Release: Seven Intriguing Matchups
Trade Validation New Phillips Arena Unveiled
Vs Dallas Mavericks Wednesday October 24th 2018 7PM EST ESPN
Wow! The NBA schedule makers waisted no time in giving the sports world Luka Doncic vs Trae Young. The Atlanta Hawks traded Doncic to the Dallas Mavericks, for Trae Young and a future 1st round pick on draft night. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN, and is one of only two Hawks games, scheduled to be televised nationally.
This game will make the opening of the new and improved Phillips Arena. The Atlanta Hawks $192 million dollar renovations to Phillips Arena, will include better acoustics, a new court, improved spacing with the seating, renovated luxury suites, and the most HD, LED, boards of any arena. Atlanta Rapper Killer Mike, will also have a barbershop and clothing store in the new Phillips. The Atlanta Hawks New venue is certain to be one of the most spectacular in the world, when the renovations are complete.
Even though the narrative of the game will be Young versus Doncic, the two top five picks will rarely guard each other. Trae Young will have the athletic Dennis Smith Jr to deal with. This game will also test Young’s ability to score at the rim. The Mavericks signed DeAndre Jordan, one of the league’s best rim protectors, this past offseason.
In one of the game’s most intriguing matchups, John Collins will face future Hall Of Fame Forward Dirk Nowitzki. This could be the final chance, for Atlanta Hawks’ fans to see Dirk play live, as he’s approaching the twilight of his career. Taurean Prince will take on scoring forward Harrison Barnes. Prince is very likely to see time vs Doncic as well, so that’s certainly a match-up to watch for as well. Ultimately, fans and media alike will be quickly trying to determine who won the Trae Young vs Doncic trade. At least until the rematch @Dallas on Wednesday December 12th 2018, at 8:30 PM EST.
