The Atlanta Braves had a productive start to September with a comeback win and much-needed roster expansion. Calling up seven players the Braves added much-needed depth down the stretch.

Starting off September with a win was important to for the Atlanta Braves to steady their fall in the NL East. With back-to-back losses, their NL East lead had been cut in half.  With a  5-3 win over the Pirates, the Braves steadied themselves pushing their lead back to three games.

With a three-game lead over the Phillies now in the final month of the season, the Braves are going to need every advantage they can get.

With that in mind, Atlanta called up Lane Adams, Kyle Wright, Michael Reed, Bryse Wilson, Toussaint, Shane Carle, and Rene Rivera.

There is a lot to cover here the biggest news is the fact Kyle Wright will be added to the Big League roster. Wright the 2017 first-rounder will be getting his first taste of Big League action.

Yet another young arm the team hopes is a part of their future. He will join Wilson and Toussaint both who made impressive starts earlier in the season.

Barring injury, it appears they will be used out of the bullpen or to make a spot start in the final month.

Lane Adams is a familiar face the team brought back to add a much-needed pinch runner. Considering Rene Rivera, Adam Duvall, and Lucas Duda are the heart of the Braves bench adding speed was a wise decision.

Rivera meanwhile, will come in as the third catcher allowing Kurt Suzuki and Tyler Flowers occasional rest or the ability to pinch hit when needed.

Overall Atlanta perfectly executed September call-ups addressing the team’s shortcomings and adding more youthful arms for the Braves to look at.
