A very long Atlanta Falcons off-season is finally coming to an end tonight as the NFL season gets underway. Can the Falcons avenge last season’s playoff loss in Philly?

The Eagles became Super Bowl champs after beating the Atlanta Falcons in the playoffs giving the Falcons another disappointing season.  Now the Falcons will have a chance to start the new season out by avenging the old.

Nick Foles will be starting in place of the injured Carson Wentz. While Foles may have beaten the Falcons in the playoffs it is hard to believe he can accomplish this feat twice.

Foles is a backup quarterback who has struggled this pre-season. This doesn’t mean tonight’s game is the Falcon’s to lose by any means, however.

Philly boasts one of the best defensive line units in the League and will challenge Atlanta all night long.

Combined with a solid running attack and an above average offensive line Atlanta could struggle on the road.

Still, the Falcons have the better quarterback and better skills position on offense. Tonight that will be the difference in the game.

Atlanta will start the season out on a winning note taking down Foles and the hungover Super Bowl Eagles.

Defensively the Falcons must stop the run and force Foles to make throws. If they can play as well as they did last season limiting the Eagles to 15-points tonight’s game will be an easy win.

Projected score- Falcons-28 Eagles-17

After a tight start, the Falcons score a touchdown late to pull away and lock up their first victory of the season.

The Eagles will be facing a Super Bowl hangover this season as the magic of Nick Foles wears off and Carson Wentz struggles to get healthy.
