Mecole Hardman is a Dangerous Man

The passing game got off to a slow start for Georgia Football. Early in the first half, the Bulldogs wide receivers were more effective in the running game, than the passing game. Mecole Hardman had a 30 yard run on a jet sweep play. It is a play in which the WR sprints behind the line of scrimmage and receives the handoff.

Things changed dramatically though, as the third quarter became the Mecole Hardman show. Hardman carved up the Gamecocks defense in a variety of ways. He did damage on bubble screens, crossing routes and deep downfield.

The biggest play Mecole Hardman made yardage wise, was on a bubble screen to the left. Hardman took the short pass into space and juked his way to a 42 yard gain. The scamper set up a touchdown run by Elijah Holyfield.

Mecole Hardman made another big play, in which he got behind the defense, and caught a 34 yard touchdown pass from Jake Fromm. Micole finished with six catches for 103 yards, and one touchdown, along with 30 yards rushing, for the Georgia Football team.

Mr. Hardman accounted for slightly more than half of the UGA passing yards against South Carolina. The Bulldogs second leading receiver was Riley Ridley, with four catches for just 37 yards.

The remainder of the receiving yards and catches were spread out, as six other guys caught one pass each. It will be interesting to see if Hardman emerges as the Bulldogs’ leading receiver, and Jake Fromm‘s favorite target moving forward, or Jim Chaney decides to feature a different pass catcher, dictated by matchups.
