Tevin Coleman – Running Back

Standard: 12.5 points PPR: 16.5 points

Tevin Coleman had his best career rushing game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Coleman, who usually is the second most used running back in a committee, took full advantage of being the number one back Sunday. He was afforded the opportunity, due to Devonta Freeman missing the game with a knee injury.

Tevin Coleman rushed for 107 yards on only 16 carries, an insane 6.7 yards per carry! He’s biggest run was an electric cutback, that lead to a 36 yard gain. Tevin also caught all four of his passing game targets, gaining an additional 18 yards in the Atlanta Falcons victory.

The only drawback to the performance of Tevin Coleman, is that he didn’t get into the end zone. Matt Ryan’s quarterback sneak touchdown, certainly removed one golden opportunity for Coleman. The Falcons chose to go to the air on their other red zone trips, though Ryan ran one of those in for the score.

Week Three Outlook

Tevin Coleman broke the Carolina Panthers’ amazing streak. They hadn’t allowed a running back to eclipse 100 yards in 22 straight games, before Tevin gashed them for 107.

Devonta Freeman will miss the upcoming matchup against the sAints. Coleman should theoretically fair even better versus New Orleans.
