Calvin Ridley – Wide Receiver

Standard: 12.7 PPR: 16.7

This week is a week of firsts for Calvin Ridley Jr. The rookie first round pick dropped his only target in week one. Ridley made his presence felt in his first divisional game, catching four passes for 64 yards. He tied Julio Jones for the team lead in receiving yards.

Calvin Ridley didn’t just stop at getting his first catch, he also got a his first career NFL touchdown reception. The 11 yard play was huge, because it broke the Atlanta Falcons’ red zone struggles, and sparked the Falcons to a great offensive output.

Other than the receptions, Ridley also carried the ball once for three yards. He also added 50 yards in the return game, on two kickoff returns. It was a great home debut, by the rookie wide receiver.

Week Three Outlook

Calvin Ridley is certainly a player to have on the radar against the New Orleans sAints. The fact that the Atlanta Falcons have so many injuries on defense, means this game could trend towards a shootout. With that being said if you have been starting Calvin by all means continue to.

For fantasy owners who have higher drafted wide receivers, with a better record of production, I wouldn’t recommend jumping the gun with Ridley’s first good performance. He is certainly worth keeping an eye on though.
