The Atlanta Falcons offense put up monster numbers for the second week in a row. Unfortunately this time the offensive explosion occurred during a 37-43 overtime loss to rival New Orleans. Fortunately if fantasy owners had certain Falcons players, it’s highly unlikely that they lost their fantasy football matchup.

Let’s take a look at how the top Atlanta Falcons players fared in fantasy football during week three. We will also project what they will do in week four against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Week Three Co-player of the Week

Wide Receiver Calvin Ridley

Standard: 33.5 Points PPR: 40.5

First of all, If you ignored my advice to wait another week to see if Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley could duplicate his first good performance, congratulations. Fantasy owners who are in deeper leagues or who are risk takers were rewarded handsomely for starting Atlanta Falcons rookie wide receiver Calvin Ridley.

Calvin responded with an NFL high 33.5 Points in standard scoring leagues, and a whopping 40.5 points in PPR leagues, according to NFL Fantasy Scoring.

Ridley followed up his breakout four catch, 64 yards and one touchdown performance, with one of the greatest performances by a rookie wide receiver in NFL history. Calvin exploded with an extraordinary seven catches for 146 yards and three touchdowns!

Had New Orleans defensive back Ken Crawley not interfered with Ridley on a beautiful deep throw by Matt Ryan, Calvin would have had an additional 41 yards receiving added to his gaudy total.

Week Four Forecast

If you followed my advice to wait and see before starting Ridley, my apologies. Obviously we have seen enough now. Back to back terrific performances have made Calvin Ridley a starter until proven otherwise.

The Cincinnati Bengals are middle of the road, ranking number 14 at defending fantasy wide receivers.
