3. Mike Foltynewicz Must Set the Tone For a Rotation Full of Questions

Mike Foltynewicz was unquestionably the Braves best pitcher down the stretch this season. He showed improved command both over his pitches and emotions. He will earn the start for Atlanta in game one and has to set the tone for the rotation.

Mike pitched 183.0 innings and had an ERA well under three sitting at 2.85, a great mark for any pitcher.

Looking back at his seasons past it is easily Mike’s best season. A season of what Braves fans have long been expecting from Mike.

Now all the pressure will be on Folty to deliver in game one as he goes toe-to-toe with Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw has given the Braves trouble in the past and isn’t likely to surrender many runs.

Going at least five innings and keeping his team within a run or two would be considered a success for the Braves and Folty.

Setting the tone for a rotation full of question marks behind him. The Braves have virtually no postseason experience in their rotation with only veterans in the bullpen and starter Anibal Sanchez to lean on for guidance.

Game one will be on Thursday for Folty and Atlanta as he attempts to set the tone for the Braves postseason rotation.
