Georgia Football: Dog Bones Earned vs Tennessee
Brian Herrien
Brian Herrien was Georgia Football’s second leading rusher against Tennessee with 56 yards. He was third in carries with just nine, giving him an outstanding seven yards per carry average.
Most importantly for the Dawgs, Herrien came through when he was needed the most. After the Volunteers cut the Bulldogs lead to 12 points, UGA went on a 13 play 75 yard drive. All of the 75 yards came on the ground with the exception of ten.
Brian Herrien was key on the Bulldogs back-breaking drive. He ran the ball four times for 30 yards. Four of the last five plays of the drive were Herrien runs, the last of which took Georgia down to the Tennessee 14 yard line. Brian Herrien was clutch running the ball, showing great vision. For that he deserves a bone
D’Andre Swift
D’Andre Swift has struggled by his standards when carrying the ball for Georgia Football this year. He’s the Dawgs second leading rusher, but he’s only averaging 4.6 yards per carry. That’s not a bad yards per carry average, but is a steep decline from his incredible 7.6 yards per carry average last season.
Swift has been dealing with a nagging groin injury all season long. That news just recently surfaced in an article by Jed May of The Red and Black. D’Andre seems to be improving which is wonderful news for the Dawgs.
D’Andre Swift contributed 50 yards on 12 carries. He also added an explosive 22 yard reception. Most importantly for the Dawgs, Swift scored two rushing touchdowns, the last of which was the dagger.
Expect D’Andre to get more and more explosive as he continues to recover from the nagging injury. In the meantime, he receives a bone for the two touchdown performance.
