4. Giving up an Out Early in the Game

Brian Snitker’s managing style was hard to judge in game one. Overall he appeared to handle the game as best he could have considering Mike’s struggles. The one big exception was giving up an early out offensively.

Every out is precious in the postseason, every little decision is broken down in a game of management chess.

Snitker opted to send Mike Foltynewicz to the plate with no intention of having him pitch the next inning.

It was extremely obvious Mike was disengaged from the game and shouldn’t have been sent to the plate.

Sacrificing an out with a bench full of pinch hitters is a mistake Snitker should learn from whether or not it changed the outcome of Thursday night’s game.

The Braves manager must continue to learn on the job in this series and help guide a young Atlanta roster.  Outs are never free in the postseason the Dodgers will not be handing the Braves any, Atlanta should be returning the favor.
