Julio Jones – Wide Receiver

Standard: 17.3 points PPR: 26.3 points

While Matt Ryan and Calvin Ridley have gotten most of the fantasy football headlines in recent weeks, Julio Jones continues to be one of the most dependable wide receivers in the NFL. In fact Jones leads the entire NFL with 502 receiving yards.

Julio ranks just 15 among NFL wide receivers putting him in wide receiver number two territory. The reason Jones ranks that low, is the fact he’s yet to score a touchdown this season. A touchdown or two will put him right back in the wide receiver number one category where he belongs.

Jones had another banner day against the Bengals catching team highs of nine passes for 173 yards. That’s a huge day in PPR leagues, where a point is given for each catch made.

Week Five Forecast

Fantasy general managers that have Julio Jones on their team, are salivating over the upcoming matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The number 29 pass defense, that surrenders the fourth most fantasy points to wide receivers, will find it hard press to slow Jet Jones down.

In addition to the Steelers defensive rankings, the Atlanta Falcons number one receiver has another major reason to be motivated for this game. His counterpart, wide receiver Antonio Brown of the Steelers will be trying to up stage him.

Brown is the only wide receiver in the NFL that many fans and analysts say is a better player than Jones. Brown ranked higher than Jones on the NFL Networks top 100 list in which the players vote for. The list can be seen here on NFL.com.

CBS sports ranks Antonio higher than Julio on Peter Priscso’s top 100 list. The debate in who is the better player, is certain to bring out the best in both men.
