Important Matchups:

Bulldogs right tackle Isaiah Wilson versus Commodores’ linebacker Kenny Hebert

The Georgia Bulldogs have a massive offensive line that is one of the best in the country. The Dawg’s line does however have one weakness. Offensive tackles not named Andrew Thomas, have had trouble blocking speedy edge rushers.

The blocking of edge rushers against Tennessee became such an issue that right tackle Isaiah Wilson was pulled in favor of his backup Kendall Baker. Wilson is expected to start, but his pass blocking will be monitored closely.

Vanderbilt is certain to test Isaiah Wilson by lining up linebacker Kennedy Hebert in front of him. The 230 pound Hebert, is tied for sixth in the SEC with three sacks.

Bulldogs cornerback Deandre Baker versus Vandy wide receiver Kalija Lipscomb

I imagine that it has been difficult for Vanderbilt wide receiver Kalija Lipscomb to sleep this week. He knows he will likely be shadowed by UGA’s Deandre Baker, the best cornerback in college football.

Baker has already shut down two of the best wide receivers in the SEC. Deandre held all SEC wide receivers Debo Samuel and Emanuel Hall, to a combined total of six catches for 33 yards. The future NFL first round pick has yet to allow a touchdown this season.

Kalija Lipscomb is more shifty and agile than most of the receivers that Baker has faced thus far. Lipscomb likes to work from the slot quite often. He has six touch downs on the season, but I don’t see a seventh coming against the All American Deandre Baker.

Expect Lipscomb to get very few catches and yards in this game. That’s if he gets anything.
