Deandre Baker Shuts Down Number One Receivers

Another week, another top SEC wide receiver who faced Georgia Football cornerback Deandre Baker and was held far below is typical output. This past week it was Vanderbilt wide receiver Kalija Lipscomb.

Lipscomb came into the contest against UGA leading the SEC in receptions with 43. He also had 6 touchdowns. He was shut down to tune of only 2 catches for 16 yards and no touchdowns. I predicted the Baker shut down job in our game here in our game preview article.

It’s become abundantly clear that opposing teams need to game plan for their top receiver not getting much at all, when they face Deandre Baker and the Bulldogs. Baker has now faced Debo Samuel, Emanuel Hall, and Kalija Lipscomb on the season.

The three aforementioned All SEC receivers, Baker has defended produced a grand total of 8 catches for 49 yards! And all of those haven’t come against Baker. Baker is clearly the nation’s number one cornerback draft prospect. He will play on Sundays for many many years.
