Julio Jones – Wide Receiver

Julio Jones had his typical high level performance. He caught nine of the 12 passes throw his way for 104 yards to lead the Atlanta Falcons in receptions and receiving yards. Julio averaged 11.6 yard per reception and constantly helped Matt Ryan move the chains.

Unfortunately Julio Jones has also held to this year’s pattern of doing everything but score touchdowns. Incredibly the All Pro wide receiver, considered by many to the best in the game, has yet to score a touchdown this season.

Julio Jones is now second in the NFL with 812 receiving yards. In addition to having over 100 yard receiving, Jones drew a long pass interference penalty. He also had a 40 reception called back on a holding penalty by tight end Eric Saubert.

The only blemish on Julio’s night was a controversial fumble. The play was originally called an incomplete pass, but was challenged by Giants coach Pat Shurmur and overturned. Pro Football Focus gave Julio Jones a grade of 83.8, and named him to their team of the week.

ATL All Day Grade: A-

Marvin Hall – Wide Receiver

Marvin Hall a 5’10 undrafted wide receiver in his second year out of Washington, made the most of his limited snaps. He played just 12 snaps, but caught all three targets that Matt Ryan sent his way, for 63 yards and a touchdown. PFF gave Marvin Hall a grade of 79.5.

ATL All Day Grade: B+

Ben Garland – Guard

Ben Garland was unexpectedly pressed into action following a horrible injury to right guard Brandon Fusco. Thankfully for the Atlanta Falcons Garland was up to the task.

Ben Garland held his own at the point of attack and didn’t commit a penalty, after entering the game late second quarter. He delivered a key block on Tevin Coleman‘s 30 yard touchdown run. Ben also performed without allowing any pressure in the passing game.

Pro Football Focus gave him a grade of 76.8 for his 26 snaps played.

ATL All Day Grade: B

Alex Mack – Center

While some might say that he’s lost a little bit off of his fastball, Alex Mack continues to be a steady force in the middle of the Atlanta Falcons offense. Mack is a steady run blocker, doing a good job at redirecting guys and getting to the second level.

Pass blocking wise, he can sometimes be overwhelmed by the top defensive tackles, but very few men can block those guys one on one. Mack did a solid job in pass protection against the Giants. He wasn’t flawless, as he did allow one quarterback hurry on the night.

Alex Mack did do a great job of avoiding drawing any yellow flags. He received a solid grade of 74 from Pro Football Focus. He was given a pass blocking grade of 68.4 and a run blocking grade of 75.4.
