The Atlanta Hawks had their two game winning streak snapped, suffering their first loss in State Farm Arena, 85-97 at the hands of the Chicago Bulls. What adjustments are needed?

The Atlanta Hawks fell victim to the classic let down game, after an emotional 111-104 come from behind victory over the Dallas Mavericks. The team followed that up with its worse offense showing of the season, scoring only 85 points against the Chicago Bulls.

The Atlanta Hawks starting lineup looked lethargic from the start of the game, falling behind 10-1 early. Trae Young scored the Hawks first three points on free throws, attempting to jump-start the offense by driving to the basket. The Bulls responded by trapping Trae Young on all pick and rolls.

The trapping defense of Chicago forced the Hawks into several turnovers. The Hawks didn’t make their first field goal until halfway through the first quarter. The Hawks struggled to make outside shots, yet they lead by three at the end of the first quarter and the first half.

The Hawks were given a boost by the hustle and activity of center Dwayne Dedmon off the bench. Forward DeAndre’ Bembry and guard Kevin Huerter also provided a spark for the second unit with their energy and three-point shooting.

The Hawks hung tough despite their struggles on offense, but ultimately a stretch from mid third quarter to mid fourth quarter doomed the Atlanta Hawks, as they went from being ahead by four points to down by ten points.
