3.Robert Alford and Desmond Trufant Must Be More Consistent

Robert Alford and Desmond Trufant are the last remaining healthy Atlanta Falcons in the secondary. They’ve often been beaten this season or made key mistakes. If the Falcons defense is going to climb back to respectability it starts with these two corners.

Alford must stop getting beat over the top, and Trufant must play tighter. Two opposite problems for corners with the ability to be great.

For Alford, he takes far too many chances, chances that end with him being beat over the top of committing a stupid penalty.

Trufant has to play tighter and be more aggressive, trusting his help over the top and stop allowing simple underneath routes to break into big plays.

If Alford and Trufant can both fix their issues the Falcons defense will click. If not, the team is going to continue to play in shootouts where Matt Ryan making plays is their only hope.
