Atlanta Falcons: Coach Quinn Deserves Credit for Adjustments
The Atlanta Falcons started slow, but a three game win streak has them back in the hunt. Dan Quinn’s adjustments are a major factor in the recovery.
The Atlanta Falcons were a top ten defense last season, but injuries have decimated the unit this season. As the trade deadline approached, many fans, myself included, pleaded for the Atlanta Falcons to get some help via trade or free agency.
Even when the Atlanta Falcons had a record of 1-4, head coach Dan Quinn maintained that the men capable of turning things around, were already members of the brotherhood. I scoffed at this and even wondered if Quinn was suffering from a case of roster arrogance as noted here.
As we sit now, the Atlanta Falcons are on a three game winning streak that has the team in seventh place. The Dirty Birds are surprisingly just one game out of a wild card playoff spot.
Dan Quinn appears to be right about having the men in-house to solve the team’s defensive woes. It’s just not the men who we originally thought would be the guys to step up.
Coach Quinn deserves a tremendous amount of credit for his adjustments to the Atlanta Falcons defensive unit. He has mixed and matched guys all season long. Two major changes in the Falcons lineup, have yielded major dividends for the unit.
