The Dawgs Offensive Line

Andrew Thomas, Solomon Kindley, Lamont Gaillard, Cade Mays, and Isaiah Wilson were the starting offensive line for the Bulldogs against Kentucky. Gaillard left the game in the first quarter with a leg injury and did not return. Freshman Trey Hill replaced Lamont and played most of the snaps.

Kendall Baker saw snaps at guard in the game as well for UGA. He replaced Cade Mays who left with an injury. As a whole the Dawgs offensive line dominated Saturday against Kentucky. They enforced their will on the Kentucky offense opening up holes to allow the Georgia offense to rush for 331 yards vs the Wildcats.

The Dawgs offensive line was extremely physical at the point of attack. They clearly wore the Wildcats down as the game progressed.

The offensive line also did their job well in the passing game. They kept Jake Fromm clean on his 20 passing attempts, and allowed just one quarterback hurry. The Georgia offensive line impressively held SEC sack leader Josh Allen without a single pressure or tackle for a loss.

PFF recognized three UGA offensive tackles as top players in the SEC East championship battle. Kendall Baker received the highest grade of the trio at 73.9. Andrew Thomas was graded 71.9, fourth highest on the Dawgs offense. Isaiah Wilson was graded 66.0 fifth on the offense. Wilson did allow the one pressure on Jake Fromm.

Trey Hill wasn’t one of the five highest graded Dawgs on offense, but he did yeoman’s work replacing the injured Lamont Gaillard. The only mistake Hill made, was a bad snap that resulted in a lost fumble.

Despite his mistake, Trey Hill gets a Dog Bone for his efforts. So do Andrew Thomas, Kendall Baker, Isaiah Wilson, Cade Mayes, and Solomon Kindley. The entire UGA offensive line gets well deserved Dog Bones for their tremendous performance as a unit.
