Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker has won NL Manager of the Year. A deserved award for a manager who guided a young roster from the bottom of the National League to the 2018 postseason.

Brian Snitker has been with the Atlanta Braves organization for many years. He worked his way from a minor league player in 1977, to being named the interim Braves Manager in 2016.  Now in 2018 he has won manager of the year and guided his team to a division title and their first postseason berth in half a decade.

Snitker combines old school managing with an analytic approach. Watching Snitker handle his clubhouse it is obvious what a good manager he is for Atlanta and how much his players respect him.

He keeps his clubhouse peaceful, keeping any disputes in house. Guiding a young roster isn’t easy and Snitker showed just how capable he is with the 2018 season he helped the Braves put together.

The biggest hurdle for Snitker in 2018, was managing a bullpen with very sub par talent.  Snitker kept the Braves in games managing a leaky pen and rotation, knowing how much to lean on his offense.

Brian Snitker winning Manager of the Year is fitting and exciting for a sixty-three year old manager who has dedicated his professional life to the organization.

Snitker is expected to remain the Braves manager for the foreseeable future, though he will be facing pressure for the first time in the 2019 season.

Winning has long been forgotten in the Brave organization. Losing seasons have become the norm before this past surprise season, now the Braves will face pressure they haven’t in years past.

Snitker must continue to stay the course and steady a young Braves roster as they deal with the expectations of winning in the 2019 season.
