Georgia Football prevailed in the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry, dominating Auburn 27-10. Here are the Dawgs that earned their bones in the beat-down.

Offensive Dawg of the Day:

D’Andre Swift – Sophomore Running Back

Three consecutive games, three new career highs. That’s been the story for D’Andre Swift as he continues to get healthy, recovering from a nagging groin injury. Swift ran for an explosive 186 yards on 17 carries. He’s proving to be the most explosive weapon in the arsenal of Georgia Football.

D’Andre Swift broke off a huge run for the second week in a row. He followed up last week’s 83 yard run against Kentucky, with a 77 yard scamper against the Auburn Tigers.

D’Andre Swift took the shotgun handoff from Jake Fromm on the read option play, he immediately shot through a hole between center and right guard, he then cut back left, turned up field and shot to the end zone like a rocket for the touchdown.

The SEC Network provided the highlight of the explosive run via their Twitter account:

The long touchdown run put D’Andre Swift in exclusive company. He becomes the first UGA player to have multiple 75+ yard runs in a season, since Herschel Walker did so in 1980. That was the magical UGA National Championship season.

The SEC Network provided that stat in this tweet:

The unique thing about the big 77 yard run, is D’Andre Swift called his shot on the sideline before it happened. Jake Rowe of Dawgs 24/7 documented the conversation between Swift and wide receiver Terry Godwin in this article.

Terry Godwin confirmed that D’Andre Swift said he would rattle off a big run and did.

"“Me and him were actually over there talking about it. I think it was the first or the second play and he went in and he broke it. If you watch film, you’ll see me on the sideline all the way down there with him. I was chasing him all the way to the end zone. So I mean, I was happy for him.”"

D’Andre Swift also added value in the passing game, catching four passes for 43 yards. His longest reception was 25 yards. That gave him a stellar 229 total yards on the evening. He averaged 10.8 yards per reception and 10.9 yards per carry. That’s better than a first down per touch!

D’Andre Swift is peaking at the optimal time for the Georgia Bulldogs, as they march towards a meeting against Alabama in the SEC title game. Swift earns a Dog Bone and our Dawg of the Day on offense, for his dominant game.
