Offensive Players Receiving Dog Bones

Terry Godwin – Senior Wide Receiver

Wide Receiver Terry Godwin didn’t get many opportunities in the game against Auburn as quarterback Jake Fromm spread the ball to eight different receivers. However he did made the most of those he got.

Terry Godwin caught just three passes, but converted them for 84 yards and a touchdown. That’s 28 yards per catch! He got off to a good start in the game, catching a 25 yard pass from quarterback Jake Fromm on Georgia’s fourth play from scrimmage. The play helped lead to a field goal for the Dawgs.

Godwin followed that up with a 21 yard catch on third and five, near the end of the first quarter. The drive once again resulted in a Rodrigo Blankenship field goal for the Dawgs.

Terry Godwin’s third catch of the night, resulted in UGA’s second touchdown of the game. It came on a critical fourth down and three with :21 left in the half, from the Auburn 38 yard line.

The Bulldogs ran four verticals from an empty set. Terry Godwin ran the lone crossing route. Auburn blitzed a fifth defender on the play, and Fromm fired the ball into Godwin. Godwin took the ball across the field and scored on the left side of the end zone, to give the Dawgs a 20-10 advantage.

The senior stepped up when the Bulldogs needed him the most. That earns him a Dog Bone helmet sticker, from ATL All Day.
