Julio Jones – Wide Receiver

The week ten game against the Cleveland Browns marked another great day for Julio Jones, unquestionably one of the greatest wide receivers in the National Football League. Julio caught seven of his nine targets for 107 yards.

Julio Jones scored a touchdown for the second straight game, after failing to score in the first eight weeks. Just like week nine, the play Julio scored on was a wide receiver screen. This time it was a much shorter play, as Matt Ryan hit Jones on a quick screen pass for a one yard touchdown.

Julio Jones averaged 15.3 yards per reception and converted a team high six first downs in the game. Matt Ryan had a quarterback rating of 125.9 when targeting Julio. The Browns covered Jones by committee, as he caught passes against six different primary defenders.

Most of Julio’s damage was done between the hash marks. He caught five of his seven receptions in the middle of the field, including his longest catch of 30 yards.

The negative mark is Julio did have one dropped pass. Also his 63.6 catch percentage could be improved upon. Regardless he was once again one of the Atlanta Falcons best players. He will attempt to score a touchdown for the third straight game when the Dallas Cowboys visit the ATL Sunday.
