Atlanta Falcons Offense: Week 11 Grades Versus Dallas

The season is in dire straights for the Atlanta Falcons. After a season high winning streak provided immense hope, the current two game losing streak that followed, has the Dirty Birds in jeopardy of falling out of playoff contention.
As we prepare for a must win contest against the hated rival New Orleans sAints, let’s take a look back at who flew high and who was grounded on offense, in the disappointing loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
High Flyer of the Week
Julio Jones – Wide Receiver
When it comes to catches and yards, Julio Jones is as consistent as it gets for a wide receiver. Julio leads the NFL in receiving yards with 1158. He is also fourth in catches with 73.
Julio Jones was his usual explosive self against the Dallas Cowboys. He was targeted nine times in the passing game, catching six passes for 118 yards. He averaged 19.7 yards her reception and 22 of his yards came after the catch. Jones was sure handed, as he did not drop a pass.
Five of the Atlanta Falcons 13 passing first downs in week 11, can be directed attributed to Julio Jones. Impressively, after failing to find the end zone for the first eight weeks, Julio scored a touchdown for the third straight week.
Unlike the previous three weeks, Julio Jones did not score on a wide receiver screen. Against the Cowboys, Jones scored a clutch 34 yard touchdown up the right sideline with 1:54 remaining in the game.
The touchdown pass was a great thrown by quarterback Matt Ryan and a spectacular contested catch by Julio Jones, his longest reception of the afternoon. The score tied the game at 19. NFL.com tweeted out the highlight of the beautiful play:
