Georgia Football continued its reign as the state’s dominant college football program, winning the Governors Cup for the second straight season. These Dawgs earned Dog Bones in a wire to wire, 45-21 Clean Old Fashioned Hate victory.

Georgia Football snapped in state rival Georgia Tech‘s two game winning streak in Athens, with the convincing 24 point win over their in state rival.

Even though the Dawgs won on the scoreboard by a wide margin, the game wasn’t even as close as the score indicates. The Bulldogs led 45-7 before backups surrendered two late touchdowns. Here are the key performers in  the beat down.

Offensive Dawg of the Day:

Jake Fromm – Quarterback

Sophomore quarterback Jake Fromm was sharp as a tack against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He was on target all afternoon completing 13/16 passes. He threw for a modest 175 yards, but there was nothing modest about the four touchdowns that Fromm threw on the afternoon.

Even more importantly, Jake Fromm did not turn the ball over all game. He had a tremendous 140.3 quarterback rating for the contest.

Fromm’s longest competition was a beautiful 44 yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Mecole Hardman. He hit Hardman in stride perfectly over the top, in the left seam, for the score. He also zipped two touchdowns to wide receiver Riley Ridley, and one to Jeremiah Holloman.

Give credit to Jake Fromm for bouncing back and improving weekly, after a devastating loss to LSU. Many fans were calling for five-star freshman Justin Fields to replace Fromm after the debacle. However coach Kirby Smart stuck with Jake Fromm and the Georgia Bulldogs have benefited.

Pro Football Focus also grades the top college games, and gave Jake Fromm the highest grade on the Georgia football team. He receives a big ATL All Day Dog Bone and is our Offensive Dawg of the Day, for his stellar showing on rivalry week.

Pro Football Focus Grade: 91.3
