The Georgia Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide will be squaring off this weekend in the biggest game so far in college football. Georgia is playing for their playoff lives while the Tide look to remain unbeaten.

Few dynasties in sports have been as dominant or as long-lasting as the Nick Saban led Alabama Tide. It is a team Georgia Bulldogs fans love to hate, and rightly so considering how must success they have had compared to the Dawgs.

Last season the Bulldogs were a play away from winning a National Championship and taking down Saban.

An ill-fated blown assignment cost the Dawgs a touchdown and the game. Still, Kirby Smart has re-stocked his team and led them back to the edge of the playoffs.

Georgia went 11-1 this season with their only hiccup to a surprisingly stout LSU defense. Now in the SEC Championship, Georgia and Coach Smart must win to advance to the playoff.

If there is one thing that three years of Coach Smart has taught Dawgs fans it is he will have his team ready to compete and play hard in the biggest games.

On the flip side, this could very well be a meaningless game for the Tide and Saban. Win and they remain atop the rankings and on to the playoffs. Losing will seemingly keep them in the playoffs with another shot at Georgia or whoever would await them in the next round.

Put simply this game means more for the Dawgs and Kirby then it likely does for Alabama. Georgia will bounce back from last season’s debacle and finally take down the unbeaten gladiator that is Alabama.

Georgia is ranked 13th in total offense averaging over 7-yards a play with a completion percentage near 70%. Numbers displaying just how explosive Georgia can be considering how often they run the ball straight up the middle.

Defensively the Dawgs can cause problems for the Tide in coverage and on offense can score with a myriad of weapons. Alabama is yet to be tested by a team that has Georgia’s depth or speed. Weapons they will use to keep themselves in this game and win yet another SEC Title.
