Since becoming a starter Kevin Huerter is excelling in a variety of ways, but three-point shooting has been the greatest asset he’s bought to the Atlanta Hawks.

Since his entry into the starting lineup, Kevin is shooting a blazing 24/50 from beyond the arch. That’s an incredible 48 percent. For comparison if he were shooting 48 percent on the season, he would be third in the entire NBA in three-point shooting percentage.

Even with the slow start, Kevin Huerter is shooting 41.9 percent from downtown for the season. That ties him for number 20 in the NBA, just two spots behind Kyle Korver, a player he is often compared to. While Huerter does have the potential to be a high percentage shooter like Korver, he has much more of a versatile game.

In addition to shooting, Huerter is a good secondary ball handler, a capable finisher and a solid defender. He also is very willing passer. The ball doesn’t stick in his hands as it does with some of the other Atlanta Hawks shooting guards. Kevin’s ball handling helps take pressure off of Trae Young as teams often trap the young point guard.

The only non positive assessment of Kevin’s game, is sometimes he defers to his teammates too much and needs to be more aggressive. He is known to pass on a few open shots. As one of the best shooters on the Atlanta Hawks roster, if Huerter is open he should take the shot.

Here are Kevin Herter’s season per game averages:
