Huerter’s sharp shooting and aggressiveness were on display Tuesday night, in the fourth quarter against Washington. The two teams came into the quarter tied, and Kevin made two of his three shots from downtown to help the Atlanta Hawks pull away.

The second three that Kevin Huerter made was a deep shot 29 feet away from the basket with less than four minutes remaining, to give the Atlanta Hawks a commanding 15 point lead. Atlanta never relinquished that lead in route to a 118-100 victory at State Farm Arena. The victory snapped a three game losing skid.

Here is the long-range basket courtesy of the Fox Sports Southeast Twitter page:

Forward John Collins was once again Atlanta’s leading scorer, scoring 20 points. He was also the leading rebounder with 13 boards as well. Rookie point guard Trae Young scored 19 points for the Hawks. He seems to be breaking out of his shooting slump, as he made 5/11 fields goals, and 3/6 treys.

Backup guard Jeremy Lin was super clutch for the Hawks, scoring 16 points off the bench. He was the key fourth quarter scorer for his team, scoring 12 of his 16 points in the period. He also added four assist for the game. Backup center Alex Len was big off the bench as well, scoring 15 points, snatching five rebounds, and swatting two shots.

Kevin Huerter, Kent Bazemore, and Dewayne Dedmon all chipped in 13 points towards the Hawks winning effort. Huerter added four rebounds and two assists. Bazemore tallied four boards, four assists and two blocks.

Dewayne Demon’s ten rebounds gave him a second straight double-double. He has made all six three-point attempts in that two game span. Future Hall of Fame player Vince Carter passed Paul Pearce, to move into the number seven slot on the all time NBA three pointers made list.

The NBA acknowledged the achievement and provided video of the shot from its Twitter account:
