The Atlanta Braves are still searching for a third starting outfielder to complete their starting lineup. A.J. Pollock should be the answer to the Braves questions in the outfield.

The off-season is quietly dragging on with the Atlanta Braves and many other teams remaining silent waiting on prices in free agency to drop. Free agency has changed over the last two seasons in Major League Baseball.

Free agents are no longer at the premium they used to be. While some teams spend on needed pieces, the majority are focusing on trading and building around young players adding in veterans at discounted prices.

The Braves have taken this approach to fill the hole in their outfield waiting for the right deal to present itself. With the market still slow many players are settling for deals less than they were expected to get coming into the off-season.

A.J. Pollock could be one of those players, if he is willing to settle for a short term deal he would be a perfect fit in Atlanta. Pollock would give Atlanta a third outfielder who can play all three outfield positions.

He would give Atlanta one of the fastest defenses in the League with three outfielders all capable of roaming center field. Pollock has injury concerns and that is the reason he is struggling to find a long term contract.

His ability in the outfield and at the plate is well established. He has a career .281 average and would give Atlanta another option towards the top of the rotation.

If he were to struggle with an injury the Braves do have options on their current roster to supplement until he was healthy again.

With the injury concerns facing Pollock, a one-year deal giving him a chance to rehab his value would likely be the best case scenario for the Braves. A two-year deal wouldn’t be unthinkable either if Pollock is affordable.

Regardless of the length Pollock is the answer to the Braves questions in the outfield and would be a perfect fit with the Braves.
