Calvin Ridley had a great rookie season for the Atlanta Falcons. As good as he may have been, he struggled at the end of the season appearing to run out of gas late in the year.

Calvin Ridley has helped make the Atlanta Falcons roster one of the best in football offensively. Ridley is a speedy deep threat with good hands, and a great ability to create separation. He finished the season with 821 yards and 10-receiving touchdowns.

Ridley seemed to run out of gas late in the season, however, dropping passes more often and failing to make explosive plays.

Calvin must continue to develop and take a step forward in the 2019 season. With one of the best receivers ever to play on his roster he should have a template of how to prepare each and every week.

Ridley is a unique player in that he is red-zone threat with the speed to break big plays. He runs routes with an impressive ability that will keep him in this League for a long time to come.

Play calling and better conditioning will result in Ridley’s first 1,000 yard season next year barring injury. He has the ability to get separation and has a developing chemistry with quarterback Matt Ryan.

The only other area of his game Ridley must improve is making the routine catch. Too often Ridley would drop a routine pass looking up field before securing the catch. Calvin has good hands and is capable of catching more consistently if he learns to focus on the ball before trying to break a big play.

Overall 2018 was a success for Ridley despite his team’s struggles. He looks to have given Ryan and the Falcons yet another elite weapon to use in their loaded offense.

If he can become more consistent in 2019 the Falcon’s offense will become one of the best in the League with two great receivers capable of breaking big plays.
