The Atlanta Falcons and Mercedes-Benz Stadium was the host for Super Bowl 53 where the New England Patriots were the eventual winner in a less than compelling contest over the Los Angeles Rams by the score of 13-3. Giving Head Coach Bill Belichick and Quarterback Tom Brady their 6th championship in 9 appearances.

Although, disappointingly it was the Pats and not the Atlanta Falcons who were the victors, the city of Atlanta absolutely knocked the NFL Big Game Experience out of the park.

There are a few things that can be attributed to this win for the city.  The person that should get the most credit is “Mother Nature”…..yep the weather.

Although earlier in the week snow and ice were forecast, “Mother Nature” prevented what could have been an absolute disaster.  But what could not be predicted was the way the rest of the week went, where sunny skies and warm temperatures were the norm for the remainder of the time.

A great deal of credit should be given to the Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee who did a phenomenal job of fusing the many layers of the NFL and the city of Atlanta and created a diverse cultural experience that was all-inclusive.

There was literally something for everyone within the Super Bowl Experience, whether you were a kid or a kid at heart.

Finally, the city of Atlanta, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, and the citizens of the Atlanta Metro Area, must get a special shout out.  The planning and logistics were top notch for this large event.  Anyone that experiences traffic in the city knows how hectic it can be.

For as many extra people that were in town, the city maneuvered well, seemingly closing the right streets, keeping MARTA open extended hours, and law enforcement keeping a constant presence at every corner.

Next. Bryce Harper to Atlanta?. dark

It was an outstanding job for all parties involved.  Atlanta has always been a great event city, but fingers were crossed that this large event would go well and it did because truly the eyes of the world was watching.  It will not take another 19 years for another Super Bowl to come back to Atlanta, because this city is absolutely well deserving after serving as a gracious host.
