Alex Anthopoulos hasn’t been shy about making moves since he has taken over as the Atlanta Braves GM.  Helping push the team to the postseason in 2018 Alex is continuing the Braves theme of building a team that will compete for years to come.

With the Atlanta Braves, off-season dragging slowly on many fans are growing impatient, tiring of waiting on the Braves to make a move. This impatience has led to some fans believing Alex isn’t the same GM who just helped put together a team that won the National League East.

Their impatience is understood in the fact the front office promised more spending. However, holding Alex accountable for how much money they allow him to spend is laughable.

Anthopoulos may have some power but he is still an employee, one with limited options on the trade and free agent market.

Having a knee jerk reaction and signing a long term deal based on what division rivals have done would be a mistake. That isn’t to say the Braves shouldn’t make moves to improve, only they must consider the long term implications of any move.

With a young core, they hope to keep together long term paying free agents may not be the right move as of yet. The disappointment comes in the fact the front office lied.

Telling fans the payroll would shoot up while making few moves to bring that to fruition.  A fact fans should remember is on the higher-ups not on Alex. Along with the fact, there is still plenty of time left for a move to be made before opening day.

With this in mind, let’s take a look back at the top moves this Braves front office has made so far.
